UEC European Championships: Héctor Álvarez does the double with men's U23 time trial success

Héctor Álvarez secured a dominant U23 performance at the UEC European Championships in Slovenia, adding a time trial victory to his recent road race win. The Spaniard completed the challenging 22km circuit, which featured the steep Možjanca climb, in 28 minutes and 44 seconds.

This result marks a significant turnaround for Álvarez following his near-misses at the UCI Road World Championships in Montreal. Matisse Van Kerckhove of Belgium finished just three seconds behind to take silver, while Norway's Kasper Haugland claimed the bronze medal.

World champion Ryan Gal finished fourth, missing the podium in his first appearance in the rainbow skinsuit.
