UCLA quarterback Nico Iamaleava suffered a lower-body injury during Saturday’s game against No. 13 Oregon, forcing his early exit from the contest.
The injury occurred after Oregon defensive tackle Bear Alexander delivered a hard hit, leaving Iamaleava unable to continue and prompting the Bruins to insert backup Ty Dieffenbach for the second half. UCLA went on to secure a 27-24 upset victory over the Ducks, marking their fifth straight win of the season while Oregon dropped to 3-2.
The game also saw Oregon quarterback Dante Moore ruled out due to concussion protocol, further complicating the Ducks’ offensive struggles against UCLA’s stifling defense.
