No. 1 Texas fell to Oklahoma 27-24 in the Red River Rivalry, a result driven largely by two fourth-quarter interceptions thrown by quarterback Arch Manning.
The Sooners converted the first pick into a touchdown by Peyton Bowen and used the second, intercepted by Courtland Guillory, to set up a game-winning field goal. Manning, who also connected on a 42-yard touchdown pass to Cam Coleman, remains one of the least efficient signal-callers in the SEC.
Oklahoma coach Brent Venables noted that every player contributed to the upset, while Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian credited the Sooners for battling and making critical plays. This defeat marks a significant setback for the Longhorns, who had previously struggled to maintain their top-ranked status throughout the contest.
