During a speech at the White House on September 30, President Donald Trump digressed into praising New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart. Trump noted that the twenty-three-year-old signal-caller is currently recovering from a season-ending knee injury while recalling an appearance Dart made at a campaign event for Representative Mike Lawler in Suffern, New York, back on May 22.
Trump asserted that Dart faced criticism from liberal circles due to that political endorsement, though he offered unsubstantiated claims that the player's jersey became the top seller across the NFL following the rally. Beyond discussing Dart and expressing well wishes for his recovery from MCL and meniscus damage, Trump also took time during his remarks to voice his ongoing frustration regarding the professional league's kickoff rules.
