Tony Romo's comeback remains distant. When could he return to CBS booth?

Tony Romo remains sidelined from the CBS broadcast booth following his July 23 arrest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he faced citations for unsafe passing, possessing an open container, and operating a vehicle while intoxicated. The network instituted an indefinite leave for the former quarterback ahead of his scheduled September 21 court appearance.

In Romo's place, J.J. Watt stepped into the top announcing team alongside Jim Nantz for Week 1 and has been retained for at least Weeks 2 and 3 after drawing strong reviews from viewers. Meanwhile, CBS also saw Ross Tucker make an acclaimed debut on the secondary broadcast team partnering with Ian Eagle.
