Mizzou tennis has shown tangible progress after six weeks of focused training, delivering a strong performance at the 49er Invite in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Tigers swept through the tournament with 12 wins across singles and doubles, defeating teams from Charlotte, Clemson, Maryland, and Rutgers.
Freshman standouts Irina Anghel and Danielle Chapman each secured their first collegiate singles victories, while Daria Budko and Mariana Higuita Barraza also claimed key wins in both doubles and singles matches. The team’s momentum carried through to the final round, where they won six consecutive matches, including Chapman’s second singles victory of the weekend and Budko’s hard-fought three-set win.
Coaches Manny Raga and Robin Goodman praised the team’s discipline, competitiveness, and ability to support one another, marking the second consecutive tournament where Mizzou finished with a positive record.
