This WNBA Free Agent Is an Ideal Target for Indiana Fever

The Indiana Fever are eyeing Dallas Wings restricted free agent Awak Kuier as a primary offseason target to bolster their frontcourt defense and rim protection. Kuier, who averaged 1.8 blocks per game last season, is considered an ideal fit to complement Caitlin Clark due to her ability to stretch the floor and run in transition.

Indiana's financial flexibility remains uncertain pending the status of unrestricted free agent Kelsey Mitchell and potential contract adjustments involving Monique Billings. These roster decisions are further complicated by the current absence of a general manager for the franchise.

The Fever previously defeated the Dallas Wings 98-87 on August 14, 2026, in a matchup that featured Clark, Kuier, and Odyssey Sims.
