Shepard collected 29 votes to edge out runner-up Shakira Austin, capping a campaign where she averaged 14.5 points, 11.1 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game while leading the competition with six triple-doubles.

After being held scoreless in an opening series defeat to the Golden State Valkyries, Shepard will look to bounce back and maintain her aggressive style when Dallas returns to the floor.
