UCF redshirt freshman tight end Caden Piening showed off his impressive size and upside during a recent 21-13 victory over TCU. The nineteen-year-old snagged his first career collegiate touchdown in the second quarter, dragging a defender across the stripe following a pass from quarterback Keyone Jenkins.
Piening finished the contest with two catches totaling thirty yards. Recruited originally under Gus Malzahn, Piening ultimately committed to the program's current leadership after talking with Scott Frost.
Offensive coordinator Steve Cooper noted that injuries slowed down the prospect's initial campaign after arriving in the twenty-twenty-five recruiting class out of Cincinnati's Anderson High School, but the coaching staff has kept him paired alongside Dylan Wade to form a versatile offensive tandem heading into twenty-twenty-six.
