BYU senior running back LJ Martin is on the verge of breaking into the program's top five career rushers. He joins an elite fraternity known as the Super Six, which features standout historical ballcarriers like Jamaal Williams, Harvey Unga, Curtis Brown, Jamal Willis, and Tyler Allgeier.
What unites this select group is their exceptional ability to chew up yardage while maintaining a remarkable level of ball security. Across thousands of combined rushing attempts, these elite runners have coughed up a remarkably low number of fumbles.
Williams leads the historical charts for the Cougars with thousands of career yards and numerous touchdowns before enjoying an extensive career in the professional ranks. Unga currently serves as the running backs coach for the program, mentoring the current stable of rushers including Martin.
Brown delivered notable performances under different coaching staffs, while Willis contributed heavily alongside star signal-callers during his era. Allgeier capped his collegiate tenure by setting a single-season rushing standard before reaching the professional level.
