Texas defense, Tennessee offensive line lead winners, losers from SEC showdown

Top-ranked Texas defeated thirteenth-ranked Tennessee 20-17 on the road in front of a packed stadium of 101,915 attendees. Steve Sarkisian's squad secured the victory behind Will Muschamp's dominant defensive unit, which tallied ten sacks and twelve tackles for loss, and Raleek Brown's two rushing touchdowns despite marginal quarterback play from Arch Manning.

Tennessee struggled with offensive line protection for freshman quarterback Faizon Brandon, though Brandon avoided major turnovers and connected with Mike Matthews for a late touchdown.
