The second-ranked Georgia Bulldogs improved to 4-0 following a 41-13 blowout victory over the Oklahoma Sooners, who dropped to 2-2. Despite totaling only 309 yards and converting just three of twelve third downs, Georgia capitalized heavily on defensive turnovers, converting three fumbles and an interception into 17 points.
Linebacker Chris Cole anchored the defensive effort with eight tackles, a sack, and two fumble recoveries, one of which he returned for a touchdown. Fellow linebacker Raylen Wilson added 11 tackles and a sack that forced a fumble.
On the offensive side, the Bulldogs managed fine despite the absence of Nate Frazier. Dwight Phillips stepped up with 84 rushing yards and a touchdown on eight carries, including a 54-yard score in the final period, while Chauncey Bowens contributed two more goal-line touchdowns.
Through the air, sophomore receiver Talyn Taylor hauled in four passes for 110 yards and a touchdown, continuing his streak of scoring in every game he has caught a pass this season. John Mateer and Rocky Beers suffered costly fumbles for Oklahoma as their team slid to a defeat that threatens their College Football Playoff outlook.
