Veteran opener Rohit Sharma recently posted a strong 92-run knock in Mullanpur against the West Indies after successfully navigating a testing opening phase against moving deliveries. Although the senior batter looked poised to secure his 36th ODI century, he unfortunately lost his wicket against the run of play.
Despite his recent strong form including two centuries and two fifties across his past four ODI outings, former captain Sunil Gavaskar expressed disappointment over the missed milestone, explaining his wish for the player to finish his career with more centuries than his age. Gavaskar noted that Rohit, who currently has 35 ODI tons, might conclude his international career following the conclusion of the upcoming ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2027.
