Steven Stamkos Climbing the NHL's Goals Leaderboard

Nashville Predators forward Steven Stamkos recently reached a major career milestone by netting his 625th NHL goal during a matchup against the Dallas Stars. Ryan O'Reilly assisted on the power-play score, which whizzed past goaltender Casey DeSmith in the opening period.

This accomplishment brought Stamkos up to a tie with Jarome Iginla and Joe Sakic for the 17th spot on the league's all-time goals leaderboard. Of his overall total, 555 came during his tenure with the Tampa Bay Lightning while 70 have been scored with Nashville.

Stamkos currently ranks third in career goals among active players, sitting behind Alexander Ovechkin and Sidney Crosby. He now trails Dave Andreychuk by 15 goals for 16th place in league history.
