Steelers' Week 4 travel plans to Cleveland disrupted by one obscure NFL rule

Ahead of a Thursday divisional matchup against the Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike McCarthy attempted to arrange a game-day bus trip that would allow his squad to sleep in their own beds Wednesday evening. However, the plan was thwarted by an obscure league policy mandating visiting clubs arrive in the destination city a minimum of 18 hours prior to kickoff.

Despite missing the mark by roughly an hour on the exact timing required, McCarthy expressed that he constantly evaluates every possible logistical advantage to maximize player rest during compressed weeks. Although the roster will ultimately spend Wednesday night at a local hotel, the coach boasts a strong historical record in midweek fixtures throughout his career.
