Star power, pitching and more takeaways from Cubs-Padres Wild Card Series

The San Diego Padres swept the Chicago Cubs in the National League Wild Card Series, securing a 4-1 victory in Game 2 to advance to the Division Series against the Milwaukee Brewers. Led by stellar performances from Fernando Tatis Jr., Manny Machado, Xander Bogaerts, and Jackson Merrill, the Padres outplayed a Cubs offense that struggled with Pete Crow-Armstrong and Alex Bregman.

San Diego's bullpen and dominant pitching performance, featuring Michael King, Bradgley Rodriguez, Jason Adam, Adrian Morejon, and Mason Miller, successfully closed out the series.
