Sportlight: Gasly received 13,000 death threats after Spanish GP, claims Ben Sulayem | Brief

FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem revealed that Pierre Gasly was targeted by approximately 13,000 death threats following the Spanish Grand Prix. The Alpine driver's social media presence was subject to intense abuse after he appeared to briefly hinder Franco Colapinto during the race.

13,000 threats were directed at Gasly, and the following same scale of abuse was also reported by the FIA to have been experienced by its volunteer stewarding team, which included a female steward who received life-threatening and sexual violence threats. Alpine has since condemned the online harassment-driven culture.
