SPFL invites bids for new Scottish Premiership TV deal

The governing body for professional soccer in Scotland has initiated the tender process for domestic television broadcasting rights covering the top division beginning in the 2029-30 season. Chief executive Neil Doncaster expressed confidence in attracting substantial media attention for the competition, noting the importance of these broadcasting arrangements for club finances.

The current five-year arrangement with Sky Sports allows for up to sixty televised matches per year and runs through the 2028-29 schedule. Additionally, Premier Sports holds rights for a maximum of twenty-two fixtures annually, though league leadership indicated openness to adjusting match counts in upcoming agreements.

A separate arrangement concerning the League Cup involving Premier Sports remains active until at least the conclusion of the 2030-31 campaign and will stay unchanged.
