Specialized out, Merida in – End of an era as Soudal-QuickStep and AG Insurance-Soudal shake up bike and equipment suppliers

After a two-decade partnership with Specialized, the cycling squads known currently as Soudal-QuickStep and AG Insurance-Soudal are shifting to Merida equipment starting in 2027, when the men's team will race under the name Soudal-Safety Jogger. The transition includes a complete overhaul of gear featuring Shimano drivetrains, Continental rubber, Prologo seating, Lazer protection, and Sidi footwear, with technical testing overseen by figures such as Nicolas Coosemans, Koen Pelgrim, Jurgen Foré, and Tim Merlier.
