South Carolina's Dylan Stewart suspended after throwing punch vs Alabama

Following a lopsided weekend defeat, South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer announced that star edge rusher Dylan Stewart has received an indefinite suspension. The disciplinary action stems from an incident late in the matchup where Stewart struck opposing tight end Josh Ford in the helmet inside the end zone following a touchdown run.

Despite drawing an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on the play, the junior defender surprisingly avoided an immediate ejection during the contest, a decision questioned by rules analysts on the broadcast. Stewart will now sit out the upcoming conference fixture against Kentucky while coaching staff evaluates his long-term status with the program.
