Washington Mystics guard Sonia Citron has quickly established herself as a primary offensive threat, leading the league in clutch scoring during her second professional season. Despite a 92-77 opening playoff loss to the Atlanta Dream, Citron put up 25 points.
Her path to the professional ranks required encouragement from former Notre Dame assistant coach Michaela Mabrey, who took her to a Chicago Sky game to help her envision a career at the highest level. Initially hesitant to shoot during her college career, Citron ultimately gained the necessary confidence after watching professional play alongside Mabrey and her sister Marina Mabrey.
