Shubman Gill made history by registering the quickest double hundred in one day international history during a match against the West Indies. Reaching the milestone in one hundred seventeen deliveries on his way to an unbeaten two hundred twenty three, the Indian leader propelled his squad to an eight wicket triumph and a two to zero series advantage.
Rohit Sharma contributed an opening century to help chase down the target of four hundred six. John Campbell, Shai Hope, and Amir Jangoo all recorded hundreds for the opposing side during the contest.
Following this record breaking performance, Gill now leads an elite group of players for the speediest double centuries in the fifty over format. Ishan Kishan previously held the record ahead of Glenn Maxwell, Pathum Nissanka, and Chris Gayle.
