Shubman Gill becomes fastest Indian opener to smash 3,000 during 1st ODI vs WI

During the opening match of the series against West Indies, India's ODI captain reached a major career milestone by crossing three thousand runs in that specific batting position. He became the eighth opener from his nation to achieve the mark during the evening fixture at the Greenfield Stadium.

The team requires 296 runs from fifty overs to secure victory and establish an early lead in the three-match contest. Earlier in the run chase, the skipper received a reprieve when a fielder failed to hold a catch at the point position during the fifth over of the second innings.
