Shai Hope to lead; 19-year-old spinner gets surprise call-up as West Indies reveal squads for India white-ball series

The West Indies have finalized their touring rosters for the upcoming bilateral series against India, naming Shai Hope to captain the squad across both the one-day international and Twenty20 international fixtures. The ODI selection features a pace attack comprised of Alzarri Joseph, Shamar Joseph, and Jayden Seales, alongside a surprise inclusion for nineteen-year-ond Jamaican left-arm wrist-spinner Vitel Lawes.

The multi-format assignment gets underway on September 27 with the opening fifty-over fixture hosted at Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram, followed by subsequent matches in Guwahati and New Chandigarh. The five-match twenty-over leg subsequently commences on October 6 at Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, continuing through stops in Ranchi, Indore, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru.
