Sergio Garcia has announced plans to leave LIV Golf and participate on the DP World Tour for the upcoming season, while simultaneously seeking an opening back on the PGA Tour. The 46-year-old golfer, who captured the 2017 Masters and collected 11 victories on the PGA circuit, originally departed for the Saudi-backed circuit in June 2022.
His earlier exit featured a well-documented angry confrontation with rules officials during the May 2022 Wells Fargo Championship where he declared his eagerness to depart. Following his latest announcement, fellow professional Eddie Pepperell criticized the move on social media, reflecting the skepticism and frustration among peers regarding Garcia's potential return after years of defending his choice to leave.
