Seahawks: Sam Darnold has a 'very unique soft-tissue injury' that didn't impact hip joint and is considered 'short-term'

During the Seattle Seahawks' 13-10 victory against the New England Patriots in their regular-season opener, quarterback Sam Darnold exited the contest on the first possession due to a buttock injury and could not return. While there was preliminary anxiety regarding a potentially severe fracture to his hip socket, further assessment confirmed that the issue was a highly unusual soft-tissue setback that avoided the hip joint entirely.

The condition is regarded as a brief, temporary issue rather than a prolonged absence. Even so, Darnold has sought out four additional medical consultations to review the diagnostic findings.
