Scouting Northwestern: Personnel, Scheme, and Aidan Chiles’ Resurgence under Chip Kelly

Michigan State prepares to host Northwestern following a difficult overtime defeat against Illinois. The Wildcats arrive in East Lansing with a 4-1 overall record and a 1-1 conference standing, bolstered by a recent 45-14 win over Ball State.

Quarterback Aidan Chiles, a former Spartan, leads the Northwestern offense as the team looks to build on a season that includes victories over Penn State and Colorado. Their only setback occurred during a 29-23 road loss to Indiana, where the team struggled to establish a ground game and allowed the Hoosiers to dominate third-down conversions.

Head coach David Braun, who took over the program in 2023, continues to guide the team after previously serving as the defensive coordinator at North Dakota State.
