Major League Baseball has proposed a shift to a 154-game schedule starting in 2029, a move that would reduce the current 162-game slate. For the Colorado Rockies, this change would result in 77 home games at Coors Field and 77 road contests, alongside a plan for weekly Monday off-days and four doubleheaders against division rivals.

While the extra rest could aid the pitching staff, the impact of losing eight games remains a point of discussion for a franchise that has never secured an NL West title. In 2018, the team finished 84-70 after 154 games before winning seven of their final eight to force a tiebreaker against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
