Riviera Country Club is marking its centennial this year, celebrating a century of history on the course frequently dubbed Hogan's Alley. The nickname stems from a dominant 18-month period where Ben Hogan secured two Los Angeles Open titles and the 1948 U.S.
Open at the venue. A legendary 1950 playoff at the site saw Sam Snead defeat Hogan, who was competing in his first tournament following a near-fatal car accident in West Texas.
The club is currently owned by Noboru Watanabe and managed by his daughter, Megan Watanabe, who have maintained the property since purchasing it in 1989 for $108 million.
