Rogers and Palmer helping each other thrive

Longtime friends and former youth colleagues at both international level with England and Manchester City, Cole Palmer and Morgan Rogers have formed an electric partnership at Chelsea flanking Joao Pedro. Across five fixtures, the attacking duo have amassed a collective tally of 11 goals and assists, having only been effectively contained by Arsenal.

That connection sparked a midweek turnaround against Leeds, where both came on at the interval. Rogers set up Palmer's leveller with an improvised deflection using his rear before the pair linked up again for Chelsea's third and sixth strikes, culminating in Rogers providing four assists while Palmer claimed player of the match honors in a lighthearted post-match exchange.

The underlying metrics illustrate just how heavily the two rely on one another in the attacking third. Over their initial five appearances, Rogers has fed 19 passes to Palmer—almost double the volume he has directed to any other teammate.

In the opposite direction, Palmer has targeted Rogers 15 times, with only full-back Josh Acheampong being on the receiving end of more passes from the playmaker.
