The Detroit Red Wings have decided to sit Dylan Larkin indefinitely while trade discussions heat up across the league. Coach Todd McLennan announced the roster change ahead of the matchup against the Chicago Blackhawks, leaving interim general manager Shawn Horcoff to manage the fallout.
Larkin has reportedly chosen to step away from the lineup because he feels the organization has had sufficient time to execute a trade since his initial request back in May.
Interest surrounding the thirty-year-old forward has broadened to include numerous organizations such as the Minnesota Wild, Florida Panthers, Vegas Golden Knights, and several other franchises, despite his existing no-move clause. The Wild have emerged as a primary landing spot where he could potentially slot into the top six alongside forwards like Joel Eriksson Ek.
Analysts speculate that a prospective package might center around assets such as Danila Yurov and future draft capital.
