The Michigan Wolverines are making notable strides in their 2028 recruiting class, with five-star cornerback Nasir Richardson emerging as a key target. Richardson, ranked as the No.
1 cornerback prospect in the Rivals Industry Rankings, visited Ann Arbor last month during Michigan’s win over Oklahoma and left impressed by the program’s atmosphere and coaching staff. He highlighted his connection with cornerbacks coach Jernaro Gilford, who provided personalized film review—a detail that set Michigan apart from other schools.
Richardson, who plans to visit Rutgers, Auburn, Ohio State, and Miami before making a final decision, has also scheduled official visits for next summer, with academics and development playing crucial roles in his choice. Meanwhile, Michigan has entered the recruitment of Jackson Doman, a 6-foot-6, 225-pound tight end from Oregon who decommitted from BYU after being released from his National Letter of Intent.
Doman, who will enroll in January, expressed enthusiasm for Michigan’s offer, delivered by tight ends coach Freddie Whittingham, and noted his family’s ties to the program through his uncle’s relationship with Whittingham and the positive impression from offensive coordinator Jason Beck.
