Ravindra Jadeja delivered a strong performance in domestic red-ball competition, notching his 16th first-class century while playing for Saurashtra against Chhattisgarh. Entering the crease after his team lost three early wickets, the experienced all-rounder compiled a patient knock of 102 runs from 209 deliveries.
He combined with Prerak Mankad to orchestrate a massive 205-run partnership for the fifth wicket, propelling their total to 392 before falling to former teammate Dharmendrasinh Jadeja.
Mankad contributed heavily with a run-rate-boosting 129 off 150 balls during the same stand. This timely preparation comes ahead of India's upcoming two-Test series in New Zealand, where the team will play matches in Wellington and Christchurch spanning late November and early December.
Having recently featured in the ODI lineup against the West Indies, the veteran all-rounder aims to translate this domestic form into the longer international format.
