A new frontier in rider unity, Pogačar-less unpredictability, and how to honour the rainbow jersey – Reflections from Il Lombardia

Following the recent running of Il Lombardia, reflections from the cycling paddock have highlighted a historic peloton protest in Bergamo. Tom Pidcock and Ben Healy spearheaded the initiative to address safety concerns by organizing a unified rider group completely outside of the traditional union channels.

Adam Hansen leads the official CPA organization, which was bypassed during the demonstration. Remco Evenepoel subsequently delivered an address that helped shape the atmosphere of the event as the race navigated these unprecedented developments around Lake Como.
