Ratcliffe 'must go' says Man Utd Muslim fan group

The Manchester United Muslim Supporters Club has called for minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and the majority-owning Glazer family to leave the club following controversial statements regarding immigration and state benefits. Speaking in a BBC interview, the Ineos founder—who backed the 2016 Brexit campaign and has been based in Monaco for tax purposes since 2020—argued that heavy taxation and migrant arrivals are driving Britain's deterioration, while claiming leaders lack the firmness to address these issues and welfare dependency.

This latest criticism follows an earlier controversy in February when Ratcliffe apologized for claiming the nation had been colonized by immigrants, an incident that prompted United's leadership to emphasize inclusion and reportedly left the Glazers appalled.

The supporters group expressed complete loss of confidence in the hierarchy, emphasizing that the club's identity is defined by multicultural players, employees, and fans. 7 percent stake in 2024, an era that has already brought 450 redundancies, executive shake-ups, and two managerial firings.

Troubles have persisted on the pitch as well, with the team collecting just four points across their opening four league fixtures to sit 13th, compounded by a midweek 3-2 elimination by Brighton in the Carabao Cup.
