Ratcliffe 'must go' says Man Utd Muslim fan group

The Manchester United Muslim Supporters Club has demanded the departure of minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and the controlling Glazer family following controversial public remarks. Ratcliffe, the Ineos founder who backed Brexit in 2016 and established tax residency in Monaco four years later, attributed British societal woes to excessive taxation, welfare recipients, and immigration during an appearance on the BBC.

The billionaire had previously issued an apology in February after declaring the nation was colonised by immigrants, an episode that drew rebukes from supporters and reportedly appalled the Glazers. Condemning his latest remarks, the fan organization emphasized that the diverse backgrounds of the club's players, workforce, and followers are fundamental to its identity rather than a detriment.

The fan coalition also issued a broader vote of no confidence regarding the current regime's overall operational direction. 7 percent share of the outfit in 2024, Ratcliffe has dismissed two managers, reorganized upper management, and initiated 450 job cuts.

Beyond stadium neglect and escalating seat prices, United's sporting results have deteriorated, with the team currently positioned 13th in the Premier League after collecting four points across four matches, on top of exiting the Carabao Cup via a 3-2 home loss against Brighton.
