Rangers left Igor Shesterkin to cover up their defensive cracks

During Tuesday evening's matchup, the visiting New York squad struggled to maintain defensive discipline, forcing goaltender Igor Shesterkin to fend off numerous odd-man rushes. Despite turning away 20 of 22 shots, the netminder received little support as defensive miscues and turnovers eventually led to a 3-0 defeat against Boston.

Following the contest, head coach Mike Sullivan addressed the team's tendency to force plays and fail to cover retreating defenders.
