Former India captain Rahul Dravid has praised Virat Kohli’s potential as an actor, highlighting the batsman’s natural talent for mimicry and extensive experience in advertising. During a discussion on BBC Asian Network, Dravid recalled Kohli’s ability to imitate others with remarkable skill, a trait he observed during the player’s early days in the team.
He also noted Kohli’s professionalism in commercial films, suggesting these experiences could translate well into a film career. Dravid contrasted Kohli’s potential with other former cricketers who attempted acting, including Sunil Gavaskar, Syed Kirmani, and Ajay Jadeja, whose ventures in Bollywood were largely unsuccessful.
While Dravid himself dismissed any thoughts of pursuing acting, he acknowledged Kohli’s unique blend of charisma, fitness, and on-screen presence as assets for the industry. The conversation also touched on Dravid’s favorite cricket-themed films, with *83*, *Ghoomer*, and *Lagaan* receiving high praise.
Earlier, casting director Mukesh Chhabra had similarly lauded Kohli’s acting potential, citing his background, discipline, and ability to handle success, though he advised the cricketer to focus on his cricketing career first.
