Colorado suffered a 23-13 defeat against Baylor last weekend while dealing with an undermanned receiving corps. Sophomore pass-catcher Quanell Farrakhan Jr.
stepped into a much larger role during the contest, hauling in seven catches for 117 yards to notch the initial century-marking performance of his career. His production included a 49-yard reception on a gadget play tossed by teammate Joseph Williams, along with a crucial third-down conversion on a lengthy touchdown march.
With DeAndre Moore Jr. exiting due to injury and Danny Scudero Jr.
sidelined, Farrakhan operated effectively in the middle of the field and became a trusted option for quarterbacks Isaac Wilson and Julian Lewis. Williams also contributed heavily with 11 receptions totaling 127 yards and a touchdown, as the duo combined for the vast majority of the team passing yards in the matchup.
Looking ahead, Colorado returns to its home facility to host Texas Tech as the schedule moves forward. Wilson is projected to take over starting quarterback duties after taking over during the second half of the previous outing.
The upcoming opponent has struggled to defend the aerial attack this season, presenting an opportunity for Farrakhan to build upon his recent breakout performance and help stabilize the offense alongside Williams.
