Fast bowler Prasidh Krishna faces a critical fitness assessment ahead of India's upcoming ODI series against New Zealand, as the medical staff monitors his recovery from a left hamstring problem. The fast bowler sustained the injury during a home series against the West Indies and has since been undergoing rehabilitation at the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, missing the opening rounds of the Ranji Trophy despite a squad selection.
Although he participated in match simulations on October 22 and 24, medical personnel have requested additional tests on November 1 and 2 just prior to the start of the five-match series on November 4. Should he fail to prove his match readiness, selectors may consider alternative seamers such as Auqib Nabi, Yash Thakur, or Gurnoor Brar as replacements for the fixtures.
