Yastika Bhatia replaces Jess Jonassen at Brisbane Heat for WBBL 2026

Brisbane Heat has signed Indian wicketkeeper-batter Yastika Bhatia as a full-tournament replacement for Jess Jonassen ahead of the Women's Big Bash League 2026. Jonassen was forced to withdraw from the competition due to a hip injury before the season commenced.

Bhatia is scheduled to join the squad prior to their second match against Sydney Thunder and holds prior experience in the tournament following a stint with Melbourne Stars. Heat head coach Mark Sorrell welcomed the addition of the experienced left-hander, who has recently returned to international competition following a recovery from an ACL injury.
