Pirates concede record 73-point haul at Coventry

Cornish Pirates suffered a heavy 73-40 defeat at Coventry, conceding eleven tries to set a club record for points allowed in a single fixture. Joint-head coach Gavin Cattle pointed to a crucial spell early in the second half when fly-half Arwel Robson and replacement forward Matt Cannon were sin-binned within three minutes of each other, leading to five tries during that numerical disadvantage and extinguishing any hopes of a comeback after a tight first half that ended 33-26.
