Kevin Pietersen is stepping back into the England fold in an advisory capacity, offering a nostalgic nod to past eras despite the distinct possibility that the arrangement unravels.

His arrival follows the departure of Gilbert Enoka, the specialist famed for establishing sport's "no-dickheads" philosophy during his consultative stint with the national squad. Upon finishing his assignment, Enoka commended Brendon McCullum for transforming the dressing-room atmosphere, maintaining that the group he observed was completely free of toxic personalities.
