Phillies vs. Braves live updates, news, lineups: Christopher Sánchez, Tyler Mahle take the mound in Game 2

The Atlanta Braves grabbed the early advantage in their National League wild-card matchup by defeating the Philadelphia Phillies 5-3 on Tuesday. Austin Riley provided the decisive blow with a three-run home run in the eighth inning against relief pitcher Jhoan Duran, putting his squad ahead after an otherwise difficult season at the plate.

Interim manager Don Mattingly and his Philadelphia squad now face elimination heading into the second contest. Left-hander Cristopher Sánchez is scheduled to take the mound for the visitors in Game 2, while right-handed pitcher Tyler Mahle will start for the hosts.
