The PGA Tour has cut ties with Oneflight International as its co-title sponsor for the Myrtle Beach Classic following allegations of financial misconduct tied to the private jet company. Oneflight, which had suspended all flight operations, is now facing multiple lawsuits accusing it of operating a Ponzi-like scheme.
The lawsuits claim the company used customer funds to cover earlier obligations and fund sponsorships, including those with the PGA Tour and McLaren F1. One filing alleges the company holds $223,000 of a vendor’s money intended for future flights, while another lawsuit claims $800,000 in cash payments and promotional credits remain unaccounted for.
The PGA Tour has already secured a replacement title sponsor in Visit Myrtle Beach, ensuring the tournament’s purse and schedule remain unchanged for the 2027 event at The Dunes Golf and Beach Club, set for May 13–16. Steve Mays, the newly appointed tournament director, emphasized continuity, stating the event will proceed as planned with no adjustments to the field or financial structure.
Mays, who brings over three decades of experience in golf event management, will oversee the tournament’s operations and growth moving forward.
