Penn State’s three-game losing streak deepened with a 31-23 defeat to No. 19 USC in the annual White Out game, exposing lingering defensive and offensive inconsistencies.
The Nittany Lions’ pass rush struggled to generate pressure, with just 13 total pressures—including only one sack by Tony Rojas—and USC quarterback Jayden Maiva capitalizing on clean pockets, throwing for 232 yards and three touchdowns when left unharassed. USC’s ground game also dominated, with running back King Miller averaging 5.4 yards per carry and the Trojans converting nearly half of their third-down attempts, including five red-zone trips for four touchdowns.
Despite Penn State’s offense scoring its highest total against a Big Ten foe this season, the 23 points fell short as the defense failed to stop long drives, allowing USC to average 49 yards per possession.
