The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced the schedule for the 12th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), set to take place from March 18 to May 2, 2027. The tournament will return to its eight-team format for a second consecutive season, following the expansion and introduction of a player auction in 2026.
Peshawar Zalmi will enter the competition as defending champions after their victory over Hyderabad Kingsmen in the 2026 final, held at Gaddafi Stadium on May 3. The 2026 season saw record-breaking attendance and broadcast figures, with the final drawing a crowd of 32,461 spectators, signaling growing global interest in the league.
Preparations for PSL 12 are already underway, with franchises permitted to retain up to seven players from their 2026 squads under the new two-year contract system. Squad-building will include direct signings, a trade window, and a player auction, with each team required to field at least two uncapped Under-23 players, including one in every match’s playing XI.
PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi and PSL chief executive Salman Naseer have emphasized the league’s commitment to maintaining high standards, building on the success of the previous edition to deliver an even more thrilling tournament in 2027.
