Paul Cotter Scores The Vancouver Canucks' First Goal Of The 2026-27 Season

Paul Cotter made an immediate impact during his debut appearance for Vancouver, netting the franchise's opening goal of the 2026-27 campaign. His shorthanded strike arrived roughly ten minutes into the opening frame against Edmonton while his club played a man down following a holding penalty assessed to Tom Willander.

The milestone marks Cotter's inaugural short-handed tally at the professional level, kicking off his tenure with the team after he joined on a one-year agreement worth 2.15 million dollars during the preceding off-season. Prior to relocating to his current squad, the forward logged seventy-nine appearances with Vegas and New Jersey through the 2025-26 schedule, accumulating nine goals and six assists.
