Patriots fans confident in Caleb Lomu if needed

Rookie left tackle Caleb Lomu was called upon after starter Will Campbell left the previous game with a knee issue. Lomu handled his first substantial NFL pass‑blocking assignment by surrendering only a single hurry, and head coach Mike Vrabel praised his composure and ability to work in tandem with Alijah Vera‑Tucker while protecting quarterback Drake Maye.

A recent SB Nation Reacts poll shows a clear split in fan sentiment: 54% of respondents expressed moderate confidence in Lomu’s fill‑in role, while 43% said they were very confident. Only 3% voiced doubt, and none suggested the Patriots should seek another option.

The survey also noted that fan optimism has rebounded, climbing from a low of 9% after the loss to Jacksonville to 93% as the team rides a two‑game winning streak.
