Paris-Tours: Per Strand Hagenes wins with late solo move

October 11, 2026

Per Strand Hagenes delivered a dominant late-season performance in the 120th edition of Paris-Tours, securing a solo victory after a decisive solo surge in the final kilometer. The 23-year-old Norwegian rider launched his attack off the wheel of Toms Skujiņš (Lidl-Trek) with just over a kilometer remaining, outpacing a late-charging Jasper Stuyven (Soudal-QuickStep) to claim the win.

Visma-Lease a Bike completed a podium sweep with Christophe Laporte finishing third, while the race unfolded with a chaotic finale featuring multiple breakaways and gravel sectors over the 216km course. Hagenes, who previously won the under-23 edition in 2022, credited his team’s relentless effort and a bit of luck—avoiding a puncture—to his success, calling the race an ideal way to cap off the season.

The race also saw Hector Alvárez (Lidl-Trek Future Racing) win the espoirs edition on Sunday, adding another layer of depth to the historic Classic’s final day of competition.
